Much speculation is going on in the social circle about the royal wedding procession route of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Various maps are being available all over the Internet which shows the wedding route of the royal couple.
Since the wedding route will get live coverage on TV and the event will be viewed by millions of people worldwide, emphasis has been given to cover the important areas of London which has got buildings with wonderful architecture. The following is the detail of the procession route and timing of the royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William.
10.30am. Prince William and Kate Middleton will be traveling to the service. She will travel by car – which will start either at Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace or Clarence House. It will then go along The Mall, through the Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and the Parliament Square.
11am. The Wedding service will be held at Westminster Abbey, which can hold a capacity of 2,200. The Dean of Westminster, the Very Rev Dr John Hall, will conduct the service but the marriage will be given by Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams. After that, an address will be given by The Bishop of London, the Rt Rev Richard Chartres.
12pm. After that, a procession will be taken out with the married couple in a carriage and that will go through the Buckingham Palace. Before that, it will cross the Parliament Square and go along Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and The Mall. The procession route of the royal wedding will cover the route of Clarence House (the London home of Princes Charles, William and Harry, and the duchess of Cornwall); the Mall (the main route of the procession); Horse Guard’s Parade; Women of World War II Monument; Downing Street; Foreign & Commonwealth Office; Cenotaph; HM Treasury; Houses of Parliament and Big Ben; and Westminster Abbey.
12.30pm. The Queen will give a reception at Buckingham Palace for the couple and a few hundred selected guests.
6pm. A private dinner will be thrown out by The Prince of Wales at the palace. It will be attended by close friends and family.
