The Auto Expo 2012 in India is going to start from January 5 and visitors are expecting a lot of surprises this year. Many Indian and global carmakers are going to join the event and show their wide variety of cars.
The range of cars in the auto show 2012 may vary from entry level cars to the super premium hatchbacks, concept cars and luxury sedans. These cars will be showcased by the Indian players like Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors and their foreign counterparts BMW, Mercedez Benz and Ford.
In the Indian car market, competition is becoming intense in the entry level and premium hatchback volume segments. Foreign players are trying to get hold of the fastest growing luxury car and SUV segments.
But the biggest surprise of the Auto Expo 2012 may come from German manufacturers BMW and Mercedez Benz as they are expected to show of their Mini and B-class models respectively. Prices of these cars may be quite close to the affordable prices in India.
Another big surprise in Auto Expo 2012 may come from small passenger car RE60 from Bajaj Auto and it may be the entry of the two-wheeler into the car business. Mahindra and Mahindra may also show off their electric car as it may be a new avatar in the Indian car market.
Two-wheelers will also participate in the auto expo as companies like Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle and Yamaha, TVS are going to showcase their products in the fair. Another interesting part will be entry of HMSI into the two-wheeler segment after getting separated from Hero Group.
