BIC and OCC Ask Americans to “Go Bald”: An Event To Support Make-A-Wish Foundation

Have you ever thought that going bald can be a great way to do something good? But BIC has introduced something like never before, through their BIC 4 GOOD program, going bald is a great thing!

BIC jointly with the men of Orange Country Choppers (OCC) has come together as part of the 2011 BIC 4 GOOD program where they are asking all Americans to shave their heads to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation that is established to grant the wishes of children who are suffering from life-threatening illness.

BIC first came together with OCC for the manufacture of a specially made motorcycle, designed after the BIC® Flex4™ men’s razor, for the episode of “American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior,” which was broadcasted  on the Discovery Channel, yesterday, on February 7, 2011 at 9 p.m. EST . Being a part of this episode, the men of OCC came with clean shaved heads, mustaches and beards for BIC 4 GOOD to promote the OCC Foundation during a taping of their popular show.

“OCC has a long-standing relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and we are happy to continue to support them through the BIC 4 GOOD campaign,” said Paul Teutul, Sr., founder of Orange County Choppers. “BIC’s reputation as a high-quality, reliable brand and the sleek design of their BIC Flex4 razor seemed like natural fit for us.”

From February 7, 2011 through June 30, 2011, BIC is going to make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for each submission on the BIC 4 GOOD website (www.bic4good.com).  If you too want to submit an entry, just upload a video or photo of your recently shaved head. The people, who are a bit razor shy, can also be a part of this program by shaving virtually. BIC’s donation amount will be different by submission type, with$400 donated for every video, $40 for a photo and $4 for virtual shaves, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $50,000, up to a maximum of $75,000.

“America loves the crew from OCC and the folks here at BIC can see why. Clearly they have big hearts, and were excited about going bald for a good cause on national TV,” said Jamie Kistner, senior brand manager – Shavers, BIC Consumer Products USA. “The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a cause close to Paul Sr.’s heart and BIC 4 GOOD is thrilled to support it this year.”

Consumers also have a chance to win, as a part of a national sweepstakes promotion which will be launching in April 2011, offers an exciting trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, in Sturgis, South Dakota. Orange County Choppers owner, Paul Teutul Sr., will give the keys to a brand new OCC custom made BIC Flex4 Chopper to the lucky sweepstakes winner.
