We all crave for a good and glowing skin which can preserve the youth for a longer period. This is the reason we end up in trying different natural mantras and drinking loads of water happens to be one of those, which we follow so that all the harmful toxins are flushed out, leaving behind a healthy skin. The exact amount of water which should be drunk in a day’s time varies from opinion to opinion.
While the advices which come from colder climate zones such as United States say that eight glasses of water is ideal, the opinion that comes from the hotter climatic areas are different. In the latter cases, more consumption of water is suggested as in those belts the body losses much of water due to sweating.
All these suggestion roots back to the concept that water is a good moisturiser. Ronni Wolf, an Israel based dermatologist made an extensive study on the topic. While one experiment proved a beneficial long-term effect on skin because of sufficient water intake, another 4 week study revealed that only the type of water made the difference on the skin density and otherwise the smoothness of the skin remains untouched.
Of course less water consumption has got negative effects and so it is better that people stick to an above average quantity.
