Facebook Users Can Enjoy Skype-Powered Video Chat From Next Week

This Wednesday Mark Zuckerberg already told to the media about his plans to unveil “something awesome” next week. Though his plans to make the official announcement seems to be spoiled as Mashable has reported that this popular social network will perhaps launch a Skype-powered video chat platform designed by Facebook’s Seattle team. As per news sources Skype and Facebook have already signed serious partnership to integrate Facebook social data directly into the Skype client. Now it appears that Skype will be coming to Facebook.

Though it is not the first time that we came across such news, last year we have heard that Skype-powered video chat on Facebook will be soon available, but it never materialized.

This time the facebook users are seeing another ray of hope with the announcement made by Mark Zuckerberg, though there is not much details available regarding this issue.  We still don’t have information about how it will function. Will it involve a software download? Will it support group video chats? And several more questions are raised by the Facebook users. Undeniably this will be a major augmentation to the Facebook platform which will help it to answer Google+ that the search giant launched with a group video chat facility, Google+ Hangouts. Google is seeing a lot of footing with the feature, but if Facebook is going to release a video chat product next week, Google+ Hangouts may not appear as revolutionary.

When asked the Facebook and Skype representatives about this ‘Next week release’ they denied to say anything officially.  But some trusted sources have confirmed that Skype-powered video chat on Facebook will definitely be launching next week.
