Debbie Reynolds, well known Hollywood actress and ardent fan of Marilyn Monroe has decided to auction years treasured Marilyn’s subway dress on 18th June, 2011.
According to Information, Debbie Reynolds took this decision after she failed to get the backer for building the Hollywood memorabilia museum to treasure the Marilyn’s belongings. The cost of auction for the so called dress of Marilyn is set at $ 2 million.
Besides, this it has been also revealed that the Debbie Reynolds the Auction is expected to raise a sum of $7 million from the 600 Hollywood treasured belongings including the costumes of the classic films, The Sound of Music, the Wizard of Oz, Cleopatra and red sequined dress of Marilyn wore in the movie named Gentleman Prefer Blondes. Furthermore, it has been clarified that recently a black crepe cocktail dress of Marilyn was sold by an unknown designer at Julien’s auction house under “Hollywood Legends” approx for $348,000.
As per the available information given by the New York Post, Reynolds was the enthusiastic collector of the Hollywood memorabilia since 1970. She had spent approximately $500000 for collecting the desirable artifacts ranging from costumes to props for memorabilia and also got an opportunity to be the part of the Fox auction.
Reynolds further said that she is loves to watch movies and her memorabilia auction would prove as a great contributor to the Hollywood collection.
