The President of Egypt Hosni Mubarak just left Cairo temporarily and flew for the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh. His sudden departure occurred a day after he transferred some authority to Vice President Omar Suleiman following the continuous protests that were going on for weeks in the country.
Till now as we got the report, Mubarak has not decided to stay at Sharm el-Sheikh for an indefinite period, and he is expected to return to Cairo after some time. He left the city immediately after the speech he addressed to the nation last night. As per the report the speech was recorded in advance.
As per the news reporters the activists are not just hanging around at Tahrir Square although, after the speech they spread out to the presidential palace. The palace at present has been protected from the activists by using barbed wire and four tanks, but soldiers not giving any effort to prevent them from joining the rally.
With the exit of Mubarak thousands of people are celebrating at the Tahrir square.
