The murder story of Chris Jenkins was broadcasted for an hour on Friday night on NBC’s Dateline show. The incident dated back to the year 2002 when Jenkins was studying at the University of Minnesota. Chris Jenkins went missing on the Halloween night in the downtown of Minneapolis in the year 2002.
The NBC show broadcasted the death mystery in depth, covering everything from the night he went missing till the developments of the present day. Parents of Chris Jenkins, Steve and Jan flew down to New York to promote the story of the death of their son on NBC Today Show. Commenting on the show, Steve said that the producers approached him two years back and he refused at that time. But he changed his mind later when he was told that the special episode is going to broadcast more about the life and death of Chris Jenkins.
After that fateful incident of 2002, the family was informed by the police that it may be a case of suicide or their son may have drowned accidentally. Actually, Chris Jenkins was found in the Mississippi river four months after he went missing.
After a failed battle of four years to track down the killer of their son, they left everything without any hope. But the case was reopened in 2006 when police rendered an apology to Chris’s parents and declared it as a case of murder. The case is still under investigation in the Minneapolis Police Homicide unit and nobody knows whether they will get justice or not for the gruesome murder of their son.
