India’s glorious tennis doubles players Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi defeated the Spanish duo Tommy Robreddo and Marcel Granollers in a tough game to reach to the quarter finals of the men’s doubles event in the Australia Open 2011. They won the game 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the interesting nerve breaking game which continued for one hour and fifty minutes.
The pair has teamed up together after a gap of nine years in a move to add the only Grand Slam title, namely the Australian Open. Another match will see Indo Pak pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul Haq Qureshi on one side and French Serbian combination of Micheal Lodra and Nenad Zimonjic.
The match started in a positive note and they took the first set in the pocket in only 33 minutes. Robredo and Granollers came back solidly in the second set and the Indian duo took over the match after a 42 minutes strong battle.
