San Bruno fire continues to rage

A large explosion and fire has been witnessed in San Bruno area near the San Francisco airport. The San Bruno fire and the explosion started behind the Church. With passing time, flames are going out of control and fire crews from the neighboring cities and agencies were responding to bring the rage to control. The fire has left nine people burnt and destroyed a few properties.

Four air tankers, 2 small attack planes and 25 fire engines from California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection were sent to the sight of the blaze. Some off-duty firefighters have also been put into service. These men, without any protective gear, are also trying their level best to put off the blaze.

Residents staying at the spot said that they felt a huge shake when the explosion took place. The heat from the blaze can be felt from a few blocks away. San Francis Hospital has already made all arrangements ready and two of the patients admitted there are in critical condition. The fire broke out slightly after 6PM and it may occur from a gas line explosion, the Pacific Gas and Electric authorities said. Around 5000 homes in the area are without electricity and rescue team is in full operations.
