University of Alabama defeated the number 1 Louisiana State University by 21-0 in the BCS national championship which was played at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
The game was expected to have a defensive arm wrestle and it was able to live up to the hype it created. The first 15 points of Alabama came from the five field goals. University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban said that the win was a great one and their defense played wonderfully.
In the BSU game, LSU was able to cross the halfway line just only once. The only bright spot of LSU was the Melbourne punter Brad Wing who was called nine times to the field to kick the team out of trouble, if possible.
Wing became a sensation in the US and got huge attention of the NFL clubs for his accurate, long boots and he averaged 45.7 yards on each punt. Williams said that he promises to have a tattoo of the BCS cup on his body.
