A Good Night Sleep Can Help Reduce Stress And Avoid Junk Food

Stress has become a part of our lives now days. In today’s world, most people are under stress for various reasons, but one of the most common reasons that cause stress is jobs. Increased stress leads to eating of more food during dinner time and in most cases, it is junk food.

In a study undergone by some famous psychologists, it has been found that people who are under stress indulge in eating lots of junk food .This causes a lot of problems as it is very harmful. The study showed that employees who have had a day full off stress brought out their negative feelings to the dinner table from their workplace and hence opted on eating junk food instead of healthy food.

In another study it was also seen that a group of call center workers opted on having junk food rather than healthy food after they had a stressful day dealing with customers who were rude. There are two explanations on this, the first one being when people are in a negative mood they rely on eating as an activity to get relief from it as junk food instigates the feelings of desire. The second explanation is that eating unhealthy things can be a ramification of low self control.

The way to get over this problem is to get a relaxing good night sleep. This can help reduce the desire to eat junk food after a stressful day and also decrease stress. It acts as a barrier between stress and eating junk food. A good sleep at night can help a person feel positive and replenished and help them cope up with stress better thus making them less vulnerable to junk foods.
