Everybody Wants To Know Whether The Groundhog Has Seen His Shadow in 2011

Today was the Groundhog Day and the cute puppies came out in the open to predict the winter, people were asking whether the groundhog has seen his shadow in 2011. This winter, a massive storm paralyzed a large part of the United States with ice, snow and freezing rain. Hence, everybody was worried when this alarming winter will come to an end.

The saying goes as that the winter is going to come to an end and spring is not far behind if the groundhog has seen his shadow in 2011. Today the groundhog did not see his shadow and people were relieved to know that the spring is knocking on the door.

Punxsutawney Phil came out from a tree stump during the dawn and was not able to see his own shadow and visitors there were relieved to know that the days of the winter are numbered. This “prognostication” is held on the second day of February every year and was brought to the United States by the German immigrant long time back. If the groundhog sees his shadow in 2011, then winter is supposed to stay for six more weeks.
