Jagan Mohan Reddy Resigns From Congress And Parliament

The Congress MP from Kadapa, Jagan Mohan Reddy has resigned from the Parliament and also from the Congress Party. He is the son of popular Congress leader late YS Rajsekhar Reddy. Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to form his own party named YSR Congress.Jagan Mohan Reddy’s mother Vijayamma, a Congress MLA from Pulivendual constituency has also resigned today. Jagan Mohan Reddy has sent his resignation letter by fax to the Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar and the speaker has accepted it. Political sources have claimed that YS Jagan has the support of at least five Congress MP’s.

As the news of his resignation has spread, thousands of supporters of YS Jagan has started their celebrations and hundreds of them have already reached his residence. His supporters all over the state are angry over the way Jagan Mohan has been treated by Congress Party. His supporters were burning the effigies of Sonia Gandhi.

Over the last few weeks, a war of words was blowing between Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Congress leaders. Jagan was airing his views against the Congress party through his own TV channel named Sakhi.

YS Jagan has also written a 5 page letter to Sonia Gandhi which has been released to the media. In that letter, he has openly stated that he was continuously insulted by the Congress Party for the past few months since the sudden and sad demise of his father YSR. About 18 to 20 MLA’s of the Congress Party are expected to resign and join Jagan’s new party YSR Congress. Jagan has named the party Youth Sramik Ryot.

Speaking as usual, Congress senior leaders felt that the Congress party will not suffer due to the exit of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
